Real World Report

India may achieve its goal of sending a spacecraft into Mars which was built with homegrown technology for what they say " a remarkably low price of $75 million." They call it the Mars Orbiter Mission aka "MOM". India plans on joining the US, European Space Agency and the former Soviet Union in the elite club of Martian explorers .The MOM takes position on Wednesday as planned.

They say the next couple hours will be crucial as the Indian Space and Research Organisation sends a bunch of commands to position the spacecraft in its specific orbit around Mars. Reaching Mars orbit would be a huge accomplishment for India's Space program, showing the world India is capable of complex missions and also be a launching pd for commercial purposes, navigational and research satellites.

India did complete this mission of going to Mars (the red planet). With the sucess of MOM, India is ow the very first country to go to Mars in the very first try. The Eurepean, American, and Russian probes have managed to land or orbit on the planet, but after several attemts. The first Chinese mission to Mars failed, called the Yinghou-1, in 2011. In 1998 the Japenese mission ran out of fuel and is now lost.

I think this issue is a good thing because living in america (Hawaii) is a paradise for our family and I heard that India is a more of a poor country than the US. Since they accomplished this mission they probably made some money and the country is now a little more noticible becasue people are reralizing that India is a really smart country and shouldnt be ignored. We should care because maybe India can join with our country for future missions and purposes and we couild become a smarter country. Also now part of the world is a little more succesful so its good that the world s becoming a better and smarter place.
