Scratch Game Design

Chase Game!

Platform Game!

Hey readers! So we finished our scratch games, a basic chase game and we made our own platform game. I think we did pretty good for our first time! Anyway, I think the way the user experience influenced my game is by making sure the movement in my characters was smooth cause I didn't enjoy how I tried to make my sprites move at first because it was really jumpy and it wasn't very pleasing. In both of my games I never really had a good ending, that's also something I want to work on as I get to know Scratch more. Overall I wanted my design of the game not to be too simple and a little complex but I was so confused at first, it ended up being pretty simple. If you want to check out my profile, check out on Scratch @laannnii or look up AloL_Chase or AloL_Platformer !

Ok so for my first game that I created, we were told that we had to make a chase game, something where something was chasing another thing and with a scoreboard. I decided I wanted to do an underwater theme with a shark chasing a diver. I think I did a pretty good job, I got the sprites to move pretty smooth and it was just a basic chase game that if you (the diver) touched the shark you would lose a point, and if you stayed away from the shark every 3 seconds you would get a point. If you got 10 points before the timer got to 0 you win! In my second game we had to create a platform game, meaning you had to jump onto platform thingies until you get to the top or whatever the goal is that designer made. This one was definitely MUCH more of a challenge for me. I missed 2 days of my GT class when our class started it so I was really confused, I had no idea what people were doing, I didn't know how to jump and what kind of math I had to do with velocity and stuff.. I spent most of the first day looking at examples on scratch they were all so confusing but I somewhat understood it and managed completing my game with help remixing a little code. I am pretty proud of my game, I made the goal to get the food move back and forth to make it a little harder for players, I had a countdown timer, PLUS I managed to last minute add my second level! Both games have smooth moving characters and they met the goals that we needed.

The most difficult code that I had so far for my games are when I was trying to figure out what the velocity and gravity and things like that had to be so I could jump. In the end it wasn't perfect but I made th character jump a little just in a unatural way... I also had trouble trying to figure out the code to make my up arrow work and jump. Some of the difficult bug fixes I had was when I first tried to make the bananas move back and forth there were a lot of glitches and it would teleport from one end of my game to another but a friend helped me figure out how to move it back and forth. I still have some bug fixes  for example I still don't really end my game but I tried to by using things like the speech bubbles.

Invention Commercial

Hey everyone! So our class just finished our commercial invention project and its been a blast! We had many goals for this project, some of them we accomplished but some of them we didn't, mostly because we were bad at using our time wisely. Anyway, I think our team's main goal for this assignment was to

During our project while filming and getting all the b-roll we need, I think our best team moment was when we made Talia climb into my dryer, I made her to it about 5 times because the door would not close all the time. It was a moment where we all laughed and it was very enjoyable spending time together.

While we were editing and putting our footage into one awesome commercial we split the job of editing into parts for each of us so we can all contribute. I would say that Talia and I took turns doing most of the editing. Asha helped edit some parts or helped us make a decision when we were deciding between two thing like to keep a certain clip or throw it out. We all made the decision on what kind of music we wanted and who's voice-overs would come first and who was doing each voice-over.

Our team ended up  getting one vote! I'm a little surprised because during
our critique I saw many videos that I thought
were better than ours. Maybe someone voted for
the wrong video accidentally? I'm not sure.

I thought how the class evaluated made sense and for the most part
made sense I'm glad that we got these results.

This is our commercial plan that we used to organize what our commercial was gonna be about.

Composition Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to another one of my GT blog posts! We are doing a commercial invention project but just before that we did a quick small scavenger hunt project on composition techniques. I worked on this with Asha and Talia, our team was given 10 different composition techniques to find and film. I think the most important composition technique in my opinion for us to learn is unusual angles so we learn new ways to entertain our audience with creative looking shots! It's is different and eye catching and I really like watching things that will draw my attention. But also every other composition technique are equally important, it is just my opinion that unusual angles are most important to e.

The most difficult composition techniques for our class was Leading Lines because most of us when we filmed leading lines we didn't film it right so I guess we didn't understand it enough. When we did ours we also didn't film leading lines the right way because leading lines starts from the point of view from the photographer (I think). We can use leading lines more when we want viewers to focus on a specific point or place in the photo and leading line can draw your eye to it. We also use leading lines to create a contrast and provides a sense of flow and balance in our image. It helps draw the viewers eye to the photo like a magnet!

My teammates were Talia and Asha. For rule of thirds scenery I filmed and Talia spoke ~ For Rule of Thirds Subject  Talia spoke and filmed it and I was in it ~ For Contrast in Content I spoke and Asha filmed ~ For Leading Lines I spoke, Asha filmed it, and Talia was in it, ~ For Framing  I spoke, Talia filmed it, and Asha was in it, ~ For Parts of a Whole I spoke, Talia filmed, and Asha was in it ~ For Extreme Close Up I spoke, Talia filmed, and Asha was in it ~ For Repetition of Shapes I spoke and Talia filmed ~ For Group Shot Asha spoke and filmed and Talia, Maddie, and, Kyler were in it ~ For Unusual Angles Talia filmed and spoke and Asha was in it. I cut the clips, Asha chose the music and Transitions, and Talia edited it all together. At the end we all watched it together and we did notice some mistakes but we didn't have time to fix it.

Here are a few jpgs of Asha and I "modeling" Rule of Thirds subject and Framing.

Cracking the Code

Hello everyone that reads my awesome blog! Its quarter two and so far we are already starting to finish one of our smaller projects which is making a video about composition techniques. We are also practicing some lessons on code and so we will be starting our innovate project which from my understanding, we will be creating something like a commercial I think. I believe it is important that everyone learns how to code at some point in their life because later in the future, the upcoming generations will rely more on technology for almost everything because inventors and technology is becoming more advance everyday. We also need more coders which could be a popular job in the future so it will always be good to know because you never know when yo might need it.

The 1st experience that I had with programming in this class wasn't really hard because I have games on my phone where you can do stuff like that so it was easy to figure out on most part. I also did coding/programming before a couple years before this so I recognized what we were doing with this. I also thought when I did coding in this class it also got more fun as we kept going with it and went on new levels. It was a really good experience and I wan to continue with this for a while because it's important.

If I could design any program or game, I would design a game with dogs instead of people. In it you can choose to be a male or female and you get to choose what kind of dog you'd want it to be and you could dress the dog up in an outfit, out make up on it, put on a wig, and even shoes! When done designing your pup, it would be a survival game in the woods where you can make houses, find allies, and make sure you don't turn into a zombie dog! You must also kill all the zombie dogs if you want to live! This game is kind of a mix up between barbie dress up games, club penguin, and Minecraft. Yep well thats what goes through my mind if you ask me to design something my own! (laughing emoji's)

My Humorous Monologue

AloL_Comedy from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

Greetings everyone to my second blog post for our "Humorous Monologue" project! Well I've learned a lot from this project but the absolute hardest thing for me during this project and I still haven't learned how to do this perfectly yet, is spell the word MONOLOGUE! I will write it out and I still never got it right spelling it on the first try. I've been using spell check EVERY SINGLE TIME. Well other things that I learned from this project that is probably more important to learn is learn different ways on how to make people laugh. Some ways that I learned this is insulting yourself because sometimes you may be the funniest thing you know, also having something thats original and not laughing at your own joke when you are telling it (most of the times.)

Pad. Pad is basically the thing that Mr. Sanderl will get a little crazy about because we kind of forget to use pad a lot no matter how many times he tells us even though it is really important mwahaha. No but f'real pad is actually when you film something like a voice over or audio or b-roll but before any of the action starts. Its is also filming a couple of plain seconds so you have extra room to help you when you are editing to help overlap video or have extra video when editing. You pad or put extra room in front and in the back of your video before and after the action starts. Padding your clips are also very crucial because you don't want to hit record on a camera and have the action start automatically because the camera usually doesn't start right when you the record button it might take a couple of seconds and you wouldn't want to make a mistake of not recording what you need or accidentally cutting it out.

Some improvements that I would surely like to change for this project with the help of some more time is putting more effects to my project because I feel like I have the minimum requirement right now. Also I could've gotten more b-roll and better b-roll to cover up my face in my monologue . The biggest weakness I had with this project was coming up with an idea of what to do. I sent the first few days on this project staring at my screen and looking up joke examples on a computer because I didn't know what to tell about. But a few days later Tim started making fun of my toes and then it hit me. I should write about my toes! If you ever have a comedy project you need to do just think about yourself and maybe theres a funny story inside of you. :)

Check out my pictures below, Peace y0..

So it turns out my comedic video was the 3rd best in the class and no I did NOT vote for myself. In this pic where it says overall funniest video my part in the pie chart got 16.1 % of the class votes (5 votes) so I'm pretty happy!

I think the class assessed me pretty well but I wanna know who the one person is that gave me a 2...

This is my Joke plan where I figured out what my monologue would be about and how to plan it out.

Comedy Writing

Hello everyone! Well we are in or second half of 1st quarter and this new project has to do with comedy! We are creating our own comedy monologue and also filming b-roll so we have visuals too. Sense of humor is an important character trait because I believe that when you have humor it makes you a more likable person. Also humor is healthy for us because laughing is good for your emotional health keeping you happy. One other thing is also when you are humorous it will make your social life better making it easier for others to approach you and everyone will probably like you better because it is a really good trait to have. We need humor as a character trait because without it, we wouldn't be the kind of person we are today because without humor we wouldn't smile as much or basically have heart.

When I first started this project I couldn't come up with anything funny and I spent the first few days just staring at my computer because I didn't know what to write about. But then we started watching a lot of helpful tips on how to write a comedic monologue and it helped a lot when they talked about writing about something that insults yourself!  I knew about a lot of things I could write about that  had to do with me or something funny or insulting about myself. So thats one tip: Wrote something funny that happened to you. Other tips are that it is even more important how to present your monologue with the right town in your voice and the right expression in your voice. Also it's good to have it perfectly memorized because if you tumble or mess up a line it kind of ruins the monologue and it gets harder to understand. Last, two other tips for writing a humorous monologue is to keep it to a length and wording it write so that you can memorize it and also making sure it makes sense. Those are some helpful tips that I wanted to share on how to write a humorous monologue/narrative.

My comedic monologue is about my toes and how people make fun of me and Talia's unusual feet. I find it funny because this is something that will come up about everyday and it is something that I have a lot of ideas and knowledge of what I can do to do this project. Also I don't think anyone else will be writing about their feet or are put in the same situation as I am when I'm doing this project so I'm glad I have something that is unique to me to work with. The video will be featuring Talia Washington, Tim Blum, Spencer Gregory, Duke Bush, Kaimani Dryer, and myself. That's it, thanks for reading and check out this rally cool 5 shot laughing photo booth gif that I made with Alani and Asha!

Motivational Poster

Hey everyone! So this week we will be finishing our motivational poster and I will like to talk about this project so you know what this project is and how we did it. Some of the layer requirements that we had for this project is to have 4 total mages, 3 of them being symbolic images to show what represents us and one portrait picture of our face. We also have to have 2 text layers, on of them with our personal quotes, and the other layer with our manifesto (you can read my manifesto in my last post "Personal Manifesto".) For our design expectations, our text has to be kerned to fit the whole page with no blanks or empty holes. Kerning means to adjust the spacing & sizing of characters, words, and lines to have a more pleasing result. Another deign expectation we had was to have a triadic color scheme , 1 dominant and 2 harmonious accent colors, we also have to have blending options for text layers (drop shadow, stroke, outer glow, and bevel and emboss.) One other requirement is that we had to have adjustment layers for images, like levels, curves, exposure, and, color balance

Now I will explain the steps that we had to take to complete this project. First of all we had too come of with six personal quotes that we live by or that is special to us, then come up with our Manifesto. After, I put into photoshop and kerned it (Adjusting the spacing & sizing of characters, words, and lines to have a more pleasing result) till it would take up all the space and fill up the page so there wasn't any blank empty holes or spaces. I then had to take pictures of three things that are symbolic and that symbolize me, and a portrait picture. I loaded them into photoshop and sized it differently so you couldn't see any empty spots or any unusual overlapping. I then had to come up with a triadic color scheme (3 harmonious colors balanced out on the color wheel) for my text to match my photos. First of all though, I had to edit my text using drop shadow, stroke, outer glow, and bevel and emboss so it would pop out and not disappear into the photos. Then for my photos, I edited them using color balance, curves, and exposure so it flow together and look like it all belonged with my triadic color scheme and text.

During this Motivational Poster project I would say my biggest challenge was fitting my quotes and manifesto ext to fill up all the space and kerning it perfectly so it looked like it all belonged together. This was my biggest challenge because at first I couldn't come up with personal quotes and I didn't know what I wanted to say in my manifesto. I later did some up with these things but I didn't have enough to fill up the whole thing so I spent a lot of time kerning and I didn't decorate my text with fonts and stuff as much as I wanted to.  I could definitely improve by using my time more wisely coming up with the things I needed on time instead of waiting. I also think I could've improved by of course sizing my text better so it look like I'm triple spacing my lines. That is it! Check out my photos below...

This my text that I used for my poster. No effects just plain black text.  It includes five personal quotes that I live by and my 2015-2016 Manifesto!

These are my images that I used in my poster. Three of them are symbols that represent me and the fourth image is a self portrait.

And here is my final Motivational poster! Now with a color scheme, effects on the text and photos, and having the text and photos combine together to make one unified poster.

Personal Manifesto

Wassup bradahs welcome to a new year of school here at KMS! I am now in the 8th grade and ready for what this year has to offer, hope you enjoy what I will be posting!

Hey everyone its a new year and possibly a slightly different Lani so I thought I would kick off this blog post sharing a few things about myself. My name is Lani and one interesting and unique fact about my current self is that I only like 5 fruits. Another couple facts about me is that I am terrified of sharks, I rather be faced with a gun pointed to my head then faced with a great white shark. I also really like traveling, and I love to watch Spongebob Squarepants. One last interesting fact about me is that my favorite food is lamb chops. Yes I know I am a little weird..but those are five facts about myself that I thought you know about my current self!

This new year we are starting off with a new project where we will be creating our own manifesto. A manifesto is a public declaration of creatively shared personal beliefs or ideas. For my 2015-2016 manifesto I declare to... live freely, travel the world, have NO regrets, do what I love, stay in shape, live wildly, give 100 % 24/7, dance like nobody's watching, creativity is key, dream BIG, make others smile, be crazy, be the NBT, show off your inner sparkle, never change for someone else,
give not get, spend time with the people you LOVE, be a role model, live on the edge, and color outside of the lines (once in a while). Thats my manifesto, thanks for reading!

My Manifesto applies to my readers for example like the people in my class or myself because since we are all at around the same age, I am pretty sure we would all have some very similar manifesto's and they probably believe in the same things that I wrote here. We all want to strive for the best, and you know get good grades blah blah but I hope my manifesto could also inspire others. My manifesto could also apply to some of my other readers because I think that some of these things in here could be a good influence on others. Also I hope that most people strive to do some of the things that I wrote about that I believe in because I want this to give people who are feeling down a little bit of encouragement and feel happy.

This is my first symbolic photo, #gtsym1. This photo represents be because I shine my brightest during the day, which means I try my hardest and that's when "my Rays" are at its strongest. Then at evening when the sun sets, I slowly start falling asleep and I go to bed, and then during the sunrise the sun rises because it has to spread light around the world and I have to wake up early to learn at school.

This is my second photo, #gtsym2.  This photo represents me because I am bright and colorful and I like to get everywhere (because you know how smoke bombs get everywhere.) Also I can sometimes smell bad and I am fun to play with (because smoke bomb stink bad and they're fun.)

This is my third photo, #gtsym3. This photo represents me because even at my darkest times I will always try to shine bright and have the ideas and light shine through!

Music Videos Rock!

Hey guy so I just wanted to let everyone know that this is the last blog post of this school year! I'll probably be posting more actively in august when the next school begins. Yeah so hope you enjoyed!

Each member of our team, Talia, Asha , and I contributed by all being in the music video and having a fairly equal amount of being in front and behind the camera. We all had a chance to edit and we all agreed and really like the song we chose. My friend Luca also contributed in our music video even though he's not on our team or class, but he helped us by being the man that we all rejected so big thanks to him! We also all helped out to plan the music video and we all did our fair share to keep this project organized and not getting out of hand. We were also very cooperative with each other and it was very fun to see the finished product after all the hard work we've put into making it.

I think a part that our audience will enjoy most is the dancing and towards the end where Talia Asha, and I are laughing and falling together. In my opinion I think those parts will be the most entertaining part to watch because I can't dance and it's probably not gonna look like I'm not dancing because I really am that bad. I think they would enjoy this because its also funny and unusual because not a lot of people in our class will be trying to dance in high heels. Another part I think the audience will enjoy is when our friend Luca is chasing us in the music video because I found it hilarious the way he ran it looked like he was gonna eat us...

I think the MV shows what we learned this year by showing a bunch of different shot types that we've learned, how to edit some video, putting on different effects to match up with the video so we could engage the audience.  Also when we have the finished product you could tell how well we worked together with our teammates, this shows what we've learned this year because and we've been doing this mostly thought the year. The MV also shows what we've learned this year because at the end we put a poster of us that we made using photoshop. The photoshop poster we made is very eye catching and I think our team did a pretty good job on it, we cut our selfs out just like how we did in our double exposed project so we did show some stuff in our MV from what we've learned this year.

Lyrical Livelihood

My favorite song is Honey Im good and its by Andy Grammer. The lyrics in this song makes me feel like I want to dance because the song is really catchy and up beat. I just found this song a couple of weeks ago but since it still feels new and fresh in my mind I actually really like it. If you listen to it you can hear a little country beat but its not too much which is the reason why its very fun too listen too. This song also makes me feel hungry, I don't know why maybe because I'm always hungry or either the song makes me hungry which I kinda highly doubt...

The music video song that my team Talia, Asha, and I chose to do is All the Single Ladies by Beyonce. We chose this song because in the music video theres three girls and we thought that would be good because were three girls and we are all single ladies. Also the lyrics and the song overall is very fun and up beat song. We felt the song really relates to us and we all love Beyonce's songs.

The visual story that our music video will be trying to tell is about how its good to be single. But it says more than that, the song basically says about how guys had their chance to be with them, that if they liked them they should've put a ring on it and how now these girls are rejecting them because its too late to go back to them. Were going to try and tell this by creating our own little story and dance. If you've ever seen the real music video for this song theres Beyonce in the middle and there are two back up dancers on the sides of her. Talia will be playing the main Beyonce in the middle because she has a super swag afro and Asha and I are going to be the back up dancers.

 Our musician:
                                                                                                           Beyonce

Our Animation Story

Behind the Scenes: Asha Moves Away

Our teams focus statement "Asha moves away" tells the story about how Lani's best friend Asha moves away leaving them very sad and full with sorrow. In the beginning of the story Asha comes to the new school ready for a new start and she meets Lani, they start hanging out a lot and having fun but one day Asha tells her the news that she's moving away.  Our team will try our best to tell this story by trying to make it relate to them and have them feel some emotion while watching this. I think our team chose a really good focus statement to do for this project because it tells a good story and the focus statement tells you whats its about.

The lesson that we are trying to teach our audience is when someone you are very close too and you love is gone, try your best to move on and make new friends. Kind of like the old saying, "If you love something (or someone) set it free" ... and hope that they come back! "Move On", easy to say, hard to explain, harder to do. A lot of people suffered from loss of loved ones and I feel this project will relate to those people as a life story, it can help people get through tough times if they learn the lesson that we are trying to put out there.

Some of the worst moments as a team is not finishing on time, during the 2 scene teaser and rough cut we barely made the cut. Also sometimes we would disagree but only on the very little things. Another thing is sometimes splitting up the work evenly but we fixed that.. Some of our best moments as a team is when we all laugh together when filming our scenes. During a scene Asha had to jump to make it look like she was floating across the room and we ended up taking a really funny picture of her in the air and I enjoy moments like that. Another good moment we've had as a team is laughing about the music and sound affects when adding it into imovie.

Animation Outtakes

 Gif: Bouncing Ball

Two interesting facts about one of my teammates Asha is that 1) She is one of the fittest little girl I've met, she swims, surfs, runs, and more she has some abs and muscle too and also 2) We are basically the same person, I've known her since preschool, we love all the same things and she can be kind of stubborn sometimes but that's okay. Two interesting facts about my teammate Makaio is that 1) He plays multiple sports whether it is in or outside of school (#VeryAthletic) and also 2) He has very long eyelashes. Two interesting facts about my last teammate Meleana is that 1) She is kind of a tomboy, she loves to hunt! and 2) She is also very smart and gets straight A's in school.

Stop-motion animation is a type of animation technique that can make an un-animate object or person seem like its moving by itself, sometimes in an unusual way.  In this type of animation, the subject in it will be moved in small increments in between individual photographed frames, then when you edit it together and play it at a certain frame rate it appears to be animating on its own! Gif stands for graphic interchange format. Gif is a format for compressing image files.

The story that my team (Meleana, Asha, Makaio, and I) are choosing to do is my story which is about when my best friend when I was in 3rd-5th grade moved away. I think a lot of people can relate to this because pretty much everyone has lost someone really close to them and our animation teaches a lesson or moral basically saying learn to move on, make new friends even when your old ones are gone. Also if you love something (or someone) set it free. I think our animation has a strong purpose and I like how we are sharing this lesson in a fun expressive way. People should care about this because it relates to them.

Queens Bath

Queens Bath :)

Hey everyone I just wanted to share this lil Queens Bath edit I made a couple days ago, hope you guys like it and comment below if you think I should post more vids like this.

Yet by the time the food had been manipulated to capture photos of it in ideal lighting, Achatz said, what the blogger probably ended up critiquing was Warm Potato-Warm Potato.

Spring Break so Far

Ok so far our flight to ŁA was canceled last night so I'm still stuck on this island of Kauai... But today at 3 we went to the airport to catch a flight leaving at 4 but it got delayed for a couple of hours (more like a LOT of hours!) right now it's 9:30 and I'm still stuck on Kauai!!! IVE BEEN AT THIS AIRPORT FOR OVER 6 HOURS!   Me and mysister Malia have been getting kinda delusional these past hours heheh but I think we're changing our plane were gonna catch a plane to OAHU at 11:00 PM which means another 1hr and a half more hours at the airport...then when we get to OAHU around 11:30 PM we have to stay at the airport until 6:30 AM (the next day) and we catch a plane to ŁA well arive at ŁA around 3:00 PM CALIFORNIA time. And Last we catch a plane to Denver at around 4:00PM and get there around 7:00 or 8:00 COLORADO time. So yea guess I'll be spending a lot of time at airports hahah but we'll probably ski on Sunday if everything works out. Were staying i. Colorado until Saturday But we have 6 days to ski and snowboard YEAHHHH! Can't wait to hit the slopes! Well that's the update or you guys I'll blog when we get in ŁA or Denver or sooner if the plans change so bye! Remember to Live Like Lani! #LLL !!!

                   Lol still in Kauai

Typography Images

Typography is the art and technique of arranging words/type to make written language readable and beautiful. It is also the style and appearance of printed matter or processing data and printing from it. It can be used with images to make a lasting impact by having the image you want to expose or tell a story with easier to understand. With the words on it, it makes the image more of a story or an easier way to explain the photo if thats what your going for.

One of the biggest  challenges that I've faced in this project is one of the final steps in the second tutorial when I finished inverting the colors because the face disappeared and I started stressing out. I thought I was going to have to start it over but Mr. Sanderl helped me and that was a relief. Another challenge is the time because at one point during the teacher portrait I realized I was in the wrong layer and had to redo the image from the beginning. Plus I missed a day of school and work time.
Last of all I wasn't going to be here for the last day of school so I have to find a way to finish my self portrait typography in a day if I can or I just can't do it.

My first example is a typography portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci. He was an amazing artist (you may know some of his paintings: Mona Lisa, Last Supper) and he is very famous for is art work. Not only was he an artist but he was also a philosopher, engineer, and inventor. I picked him because I like art.
Another typography portrait that I did was one of the staff members at KMS, Julie Washington (Talia's mom). The last typography portrait example that I've done is one of myself. My favorite one that I've done has to be myself because I feel like I put harder work in that one because its me. (Yes I know its self centered but oh wells.) Oh and picture credit for my portrait picture that I used goes to Asha

Double Exposed Portraits

Double Exposure                   1 step on how to create a double exposure

Hi everyone! Ok so this week we are starting a new project and its called Double exposure portrait images and they are really cool! Portrait photography is basically taking pictures of a person or group of people that shows expression, personality, and mood of the subject. Like other types of portraiture, the focus of the photo is usually the person's face (eyes), but the entire body and the background or other details can be included. To make that easier to understand portraits are pictures of people! Profile view is the side view of someones face like a mugshot. In a profile you can usually only see half of their face (one eye, half of a mouth and nose...) Silhouetting  is the dark shape and outline of someone or something visible against a lighter background.

To create a double exposure, take 2 pictures of something you like or that describes you and a profile picture of you. Then you open photoshop, you hit file, scrips, load files into stack and then choose the photos you want to create your double exposure. When you have the pictures loaded, start doing the space around your profile shot until the space around you is white or close to white. When you finish that double click the layers and go to blend mode and press screen so you can see all the layers together in one. Then you press layer, new adjustment layers, and then play around with the ones you like until you get something you really love. After that save the image and voilla you got a double exposure image!

I chose surfboards and trees as my two symbolism images because I love to surf and I like nature and I climb trees in my backyard.  I used curves, vibrance, and hue and saturation as my adjustment layers. To explain the purpose my images more I'll give you some back ground info about me. Surfing is my favorite sport and I've surfed a lot in my life so i thought my surfboards would make a great image for my Multi image. I put the trees because I really like how they looked and the texture, I also put the trees in because I have several trees in my back yard that I used to climb a lot when I was little and I also fell from a tree so why not?

Well hopefully, if her parents say yes that she can come... We're going to Keystone, Colorado to ski and I'm so excited! Check out my blog during spring break because I will be posting photos during our break and it will be very exciting. For more photos you can check out my instagram account @laannnii . Were leaving on Thursday march 12th at 8:55PM, we have a direct flight from Kauai to LAX, then from LAX to Denver. I swear Denver has the most entertaining and best airport ever, it has everything. I practically know every part of the airport because I've been there over 20 times, LITERALLY! I even have a secret hide out spot in there that over looks most of the airport and its right next to and ice cream shop. Words cant really explain its just so wow you know what I mean? If I had to spend a night there, that would be fine. Traveling is one of my favorite things, whenever I'm going on a trip be ready for some posts :) #sumer2k15 be ready... Getting back to the Colorado Asha thing..I'm updating this post every couple days so you guys are up to date and as I write this sentence its 3/2/15 and we leave in 10 days and I and still trying to convince Asha's parents to let them come on this amaZing SB. HDR Photography

HDR is a type of photography that will make your photos look better, and adds more dynamic range. Instead of taking one photo, HDR takes several different photos at different exposures. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. This is also an old photography recently introduced to cameraphones like the iPhone and some android devices. I really like HDR, I think this is a really good photography skill and the photo looks more realistic because its what the human eye sees. Theres nothing about HDR that I dislike and I hope more people get to know the power of HDR and how they can use it in their everyday life to take more memorable and amazing photos.

To take and HDR picture on a real camera (not a phone camera) you have to first locate the plus (+) and minus (-) button, hold it down, and then find the scroller on the camera to change the types of exposure. When taking the pictures do not move the camera AT ALL! Usually when I take my HDR photos I take about 7 photos. The first exposure starts at -3, then  -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3.  HDR on the DSL cameras or any camera that isn't a phone camera is much different than the function a phone camera because I feel more in control of what I am taking a picture of and its just a better and more professional way.

In my landscape HDR photo that I was assigned to do I took the photos in Talia's neighborhood around the late afternoon sort of right before the golden hour. In my landscape, I was attempting to make the photo have depth my taking the pictures in the middle of the road and having it lead down into a forest type of landscape. My experiment photos I took pictures of Talia sitting on the road. I had her placed in the rule of thirds and I think its positioned correctly. I also had her looking across the screen so she had look room. I took pictures at m,y house about a week before I took these ones but they turned out pretty bad... my experiment picture that I took turned into a profile and my was not so much a good landscape.

Movie Trailer Critique

3 weeks ago before we started our Winter Break our Gt class finished our Movie Trailer project. As I said before in my other posts we decided to make our trailer about Shaday's Guinea pig "George". My teammates were Sophia Shaday and Denae and I think we worked pretty well together. This project was fun and we got to get to know each other well. I contributed by working on the Trailer plan document and filming some of it. Also helping to edit the video by sharing my opinion of what I thought would be cool to edit in the video and when all of us shared our thoughts on what to do we ended up with a killer Movie trailer!

The project requirements that we needed was to have our video minimum of 1 min and 30 sec and maximum of 2 min and 30 sec long, Text layovers, at least 5 scenes, Characters, a Plot with a good problem in our story, Foley, Natural sounds, Voice actor, Dialogue and our Movie poster. We ended up meeting and completing all of these requirements that made us really psyched! The reason why we did is because we went out filming about 7 times and went in to edit the video almost every morning during advisory, recess and sometimes lunch.

Our class critique was really awesome, when we saw the results of what our class voted for, we were voted for the best Movie trailer. Our team felt so happy, it felt so good to be number one and after the weeks of hard work it was just amazing, words can't explain how we felt. I wasn't that surprised when we saw that we were number one because because after watching all the Movie trailer videos I really felt that we had the best one. I learned that hard work and using time wisely will take you far ahead in life and it will be worth it at the end.

P.S our team number is
